Environmental management model of the Environmental Engineering career of the South State University Of Manabí

Abstract

The environmental engineering career is interested in improving its environmental performance by implementing an Environmental Management System in such a way that mitigating, preventing and controlling aspects and environmental impacts that are generated in the career during the provision of services to the student community We worked with the design of an environmental management model framed with ISO 14001: 2015 Norm in the career of environmental engineering of the Southern State University of Manabí. The planning of environmental management models for the career of Environmental Engineering is developed, through a methodology that is based on a descriptive study of the environmental performance that exists within the career, as a first step to collect information based on a survey and an initial environmental review of the processes that take place in the institution, this allows identifying and determining the different activities that are carried out in the career, the effects, impacts and environmental aspects of the same. After the identification of the states and impacts by a matrix that was rated and evaluated through it. The environmental performance of the race was also determined with the help of a matrix of environmental performance and the environmental regulations applicable to career activities through the legal matrix. Results were obtained that allowed for the creation of a matrix of management plans, such as the programs that focus on the integral management of solid waste, the adequate management of paper, the recycling program, environmental education and environmental awareness.
