This paper seeks to present a theoretical reflection on the dimension of sustainable development of agriculture and natural resources. The use of increasingly scarce resources such as soil, water, among others, drives man to constantly rethink his production processes, either to radically change them, or to incorporate technological improvements that allow him to maximize his economic benefits and satisfy your needs. At present, it is necessary to establish evaluation methods that allow the objective identification of advances or setbacks in the search for sustainability. This is how sustainable agriculture has a primary role in the current scenario, since natural resources tend to run out at any time, and alternatives are sought that lead to improving the current outlook for world agriculture and food.
