Abstract

Mobile applications are widely used thanks to the Internet access facilities, the technological advances of smartphones, although they have operating systems that facilitate their development and at the same time their use; This is how nowadays people use their devices in their daily lives without knowing the general behavior in the use of these, because they do not have a registry of the applications and the time invested in them. When conducting an analysis on the behavior of students on their smartphones, it has been noted that most of them spend a lot of time on these devices, which can have a positive effect (increase in the possibility of learning in the different chairs by having greater accessibility to information) or negative (distraction of students during class hours and neglect of their academic responsibilities due to the excessive use of distracting applications). This work is aimed at obtaining data from mobile applications at the end-user level, in this case the students of the Faculty of Computer Science of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí. The results show that the applications most used by users are social networks, search engines and the applications of each mobile device.
