The comprehensiveness of a nation's educational curriculum means that there must be a direct relationship between university degrees and what has been learned in high school, however, this is not always the case. Based on this premise, the following research seeks to clarify the correspondence of the profile of the Ecuadorian bachelor in sciences with the software engineering career. For this, a descriptive investigation was developed in the third year of high school, which has a total of 100 high school graduates who are studying Software Engineering the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technology, ULEAM. A questionnaire with a dichotomous scale containing 14 items was applied to them. The results reflect the non-existent correspondence between the profile of the Ecuadorian bachelor of sciences and the software engineering career.
