Abstract

The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has gained increasing interest in organizations due to its potential to automate repetitive and rule-based tasks. This study evaluated the influence of RPA tools in the Ecuadorian government sector, focusing on downloading electronic receipts from the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) portal. Electroneek and Uipath tools were compared with the manual process, developing a test environment that included tasks such as login, captcha resolution, receipt download, information storage, and logout. The results showed that both tools achieved 100% success and completion rates, outperforming the manual process. Uipath reduced processing time by 26.6%, while Electroneek reduced it by 21.8%. These findings support the adoption of RPA in government entities to optimize operational efficiency, reduce human errors, and reallocate resources to strategic activities.
