Abstract

The creation and use of biogas in an artificial way dates back to the second Arab-Israeli war, in the mid-seventies of the 20th century, when the price of oil rose ostensibly when it was used as a political weapon, which led to the investigation of other possibilities to produce energy. It is then that experiments were carried out with so-called high-load reactors, capable of retaining anaerobic microorganisms and treating wastewater through this process. The growing costs and the limited availability of mineral energy sources, added to the difficulty of its distribution in rural areas and the high costs of chemical fertilizers make it necessary to develop more efficient methods and low cost for the recycling of excreta and the production of fuel and fertilizer.
