Abstract

The document presents a bibliographical approach to simulate the behavior of a CODLAG-type propulsion plant in normal or transitory situations, together with the design conditions that will be used for the control system environment and the general study of the propulsion plants of boats. This class of ships has a new concept of propulsion plant: the combined type “diesel, electric and gas” (CODLAG), with single gear and two shaft lines. The document reports a comparison between the results of the simulation transients, the reference data to evaluate the optimal relationship in the use of resources and failure prevention. The simulation model will be carried out through the use of software and hardware platforms that allow the study of the behavior of the ship in transient conditions (acceleration, deceleration, etc.) and in a stationary state (navigation at constant speed), as well as the analysis of the mutual interaction between all the elements involved.
