The present study aims to demonstrate the contribution of the Popular Education methodology in changing the perspective of the other as a subject in community practices. A mixed methodological approach, exploratory - descriptive, was used. To fulfill the specific objectives, on the one hand, the documentary review was applied to identify, collect and analyze studies and articles related to the categories “I, as a self-identified subject, You, as a diverse other, I with others and Praxis liberating”; and, on the other hand, surveys were applied to fourth-cycle students of the Social Work degree, who have not yet completed their internships, in order to understand their view of the “other.” Among the results obtained, the elements of the popular education methodology that are present in community practices were evident, as well as the contributions of different authors to the understanding of the dialogic action conceived in said methodology and its liberating pedagogy.
