EATING DISORDERS AND SUICIDAL THOUGHTS OR BEHAVIORS

The objective of the study carried out was to foster a school culture that values the diversity of bodies and promotes a positive body image, challenging beauty stereotypes and encouraging acceptance of themselves and others, regardless of their physical appearance; as a contribution to the emotional and physical well-being of students, generating an inclusive school environment that promotes comprehensive health. The research was conducted from the own experience of adolescents who are studying high school. Relying on a descriptive level, through a quantitative model focused on the application of a survey that addressed aspects related to the variables eating disorders and suicidal behaviors; the same that was applied to a probabilistic stratified sample in relation to age and level of study. The verification of the hypothesis using the chi-square calculation has revealed the existence of a meaningful relationship between eating disorders and suicidal thoughts or behaviors in high school students.
