Abstract

Stress is one of the most common and alarming problems of the 21st century. Considering that this also affects university students, it is considered an increasingly recurring threat, which is why it is imperative for us to investigate and raise awareness in society about this problem, its concept, causes, effects, symptoms, and short and long-term consequences. term. The objective of this work was to investigate and collect information related to academic stress, its analogy with university students, how it affects them, their academic performance, social and educational development. The design of this investigation was of an experimental type, with a mixed approach, in relation to obtaining quantitative and qualitative data, with a standard sample, who are in an age parameter of 18 years to 28 years, regardless of any other indicator such as sex, gender, social, economic, cultural, ethnic or religious situation. From this sample, the results presented and explained to base this investigation were obtained. Get into account the results obtained, academic stress can negatively affect the mental or physical health of students. Inasmuch as it is important that they learn to manage stress, its effects and consequences, in an assertive and healthy way, in addition to the fact that it is necessary to stipulate some strategies and methods to deal with this problem within the university community. Several of these techniques were prioritized, such as organization, personal care, implementing stress management techniques, as well as professional and social support
