Workplace stress is considered by the who as a global epidemic, which affects hundreds of workers; police officers can be affected by maintaining public order and security. In this context, the purpose of this research is to know if there is an influence of work stress on family communication, the entire population was used, 180 police officers from the Milagro District. To carry out the study, a post-positivist paradigm was used, with a non-experimental design with a quantitative approach, with a correlational descriptive research level and transversal nature. Two scales were used to collect data; The ILO-WHO Work Stress Scale and the Olson & Barnes Family Communication Scale. The most notable results, the police officers of the Milagro District present a low level of work stress (<90.2), according to the author Ivancevich and Matteson, which means that there is a balance within the 7 categories of work stress, on the other hand , the family communication variable reflects that of the entire population investigated, only 80 police officers have poor communication, equivalent to 44.4%. Likewise, using the Pearson test, an adequate asymptotic significance level was obtained below the bilateral significance of 0.128, which is higher than the 0.05 required to validate the correlation between both variables. Consequently, there is no influence between the variable work stress and family communication.
