Macho culture and domestic violence

Abstract

The present investigation was generated with the interest of knowing the scope that the macho culture and intrafamily violence have had in La Unión Parish, this social phenomenon has had repercussions in society and in the thinking of several families, which has led to this problem develops under schemes that violate the rights and integrity of the victim. For this reason, a qualitative methodology was applied and as a data collection technique an interview was carried out consisting of a questionnaire of ten questions that were asked to four key informants. Important information was obtained that highlighted that the macho culture transgresses individuals, groups or communities and that risk factors are determinant for acts of violence to be carried out in the family, on the other hand, it exposes the behavior of the victims and the aggressor. in a violent environment. Therefore, the situations that influence the creation of macho behaviors and their coping process are described. In conclusion, this problem has managed to disturb families, since there are constant changes in behavior, parenting models and psychosocial problems. It is recommended to have greater participation in social action by authorities and professionals who ensure the safety of citizens.
