Quality of life in older adults: social work intervention

Older adults, in addition to facing age-related health problems, face a family environment often marked by a lack of union and support. The sense of utility of the older adult is expressed when they can support the care of the home, receive a pension and carry out small tasks. The objective of this manuscript is to analyze the bibliography related to the intervention of social workers in order to promote a decent life in older adults. In this way, the responsibility and competence of social workers throughout the world is to enrich and make reality the principles and values reflected in society, providing organized and technical assistance to individuals, groups and communities. Such is the case that older adults sometimes suffer situations of family abandonment and are locked up in places where they are treated in an inappropriate way, it is for this reason that one of the fundamental pillars in the intervention is the family, as a means for care and defense of the elderly person, since for her her family is an extremely important point of reference.
