PSYCHOSOCIAL PROCESSES ON PREVENTING ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORS IN TEENAGERS IN MANTA

Abstract

Drug consumption and addictive behaviors in adolescents constitute a multidimensional challenge for today's society. In Ecuador, especially in the city of Manta, the alarming increase in drug consumption highlights the need to address this phenomenon effectively. It is necessary to understand the psychosocial processes that affect the use and consumption of drugs in adolescents in Manta, to propose effective strategies for comprehensive prevention. Examining the existing literature, the importance of considering risk factors and protective factors in the development of addictive behaviors is highlighted, both at the individual, family and social levels. The present study uses quantitative and qualitative data, thus covering relevant information for the analysis of the problem that drug consumption represents. The research combines the literary review and the collection of information in the territory, which constitutes a semi-structured interview applied to an expert whose work is linked to adolescence and community work. The purpose of the study is to have a scientific base from which to develop projects to be implemented in the locality
