Abstract

This research aims to explain and analyze the intervention carried out by the Social Worker in the process of reinstatement of people rehabilitated from their drug addiction, as well as the functions and roles they play in the therapeutic community "to live again". , from the social perspective addressed by these professionals, because people who have overcome their addiction have difficulties obtaining a stable job, and in some cases their rights are violated. This problem also affects family members, who usually depend on them to cover the economic expenses of the households. Thus, the present investigation was of a quantitative nature, with a descriptive and explanatory approach; The documentary review was used as a technique, while the field information was collected through surveys applied to 5 people rehabilitated from their addiction to psychoactive substances. It was determined that, according to the perception of the ex-addicts, in the therapeutic community "live again" in the city of Manta, Ecuador, there is disagreement, since the participants indicate that strategies are not applied that allow them to be included satisfactorily in the market labor. However, the study made it possible to identify the functions and roles of the Social Worker in the key areas of reintegration into the workplace, which contributes to the training and continuous improvement of modes of professional action.
