Research on mental health and psychosocial risk in educational contexts requires clearly identifying its thematic focuses and gaps. This study aimed to characterize research trends, variable groups, study populations, and design types suggested by the keywords in the articles published in this issue of the journal NUNA YACHAY. A documentary, descriptive, and qualitative study was conducted, using the keywords from 27 articles (original research and systematic reviews) as units of analysis. Through qualitative content analysis, 81 keywords were grouped into seven trends: emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental problems in childhood and adolescence; mental health in educational contexts; mental health in vulnerable populations and psychosocial risks; clinical and psychoeducational settings; community mental health; psychosocial risks in the workplace; and gender-based violence. The results show an agenda focused on adolescents and students, on the description of symptoms and risk factors, and on predominantly descriptive and correlational cross-sectional designs, with less emphasis on protective resources, other life stages, and intervention or follow-up studies. It is concluded that the keyword profile highlights the journal's focus on mental health and psychosocial risk and, at the same time, reveals gaps that should guide editorial decisions and research agendas toward a more balanced and context-sensitive approach.
