Abstract

The present investigation was carried out with the purpose of analyzing the impact that physical disability entails in the academic performance of the students of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, analyzing the current processes of access and support to stay in the Uleam, as well as evaluate the teaching strategies currently used by the teacher to work with students with physical disabilities, determine academic performance and investigate the use of current technologies to provide facilities in the classroom for students with physical disabilities. Through the execution of research techniques, it was evidenced that the academic performance of university students with physical disabilities is medium, which indicates the absence of new techniques and strategies by teachers towards this defined group, in addition to the current processes of access and support for the permanence of students with disabilities at Uleam are basic, that is, they do not use diversified strategies other than inclusion, understanding and flexibility of schedules, and support from other students. The present work seeks to offer alternative solutions in improving academic performance for the professional training of students with physical disabilities at Uleam.
