Abstract

This study systematically screened the literature for articles related to suicidal behavior using neurocognitive approaches. Several documents were included, including master's theses, doctoral theses, books and articles in Spanish and English whose research was developed in Ibero-America. The databases in which the review was carried out were the academic Google metasearch engine and other databases such as: Dialnet, Redalyc, Science direct. As part of the development of the research, units of analysis are established, the document selection criteria and for the interpretation of data, an analysis of the bibliometric and methodological aspects of the studies compiled is carried out in order to systematize the theoretical elements that are relevant. in suicide research. Therefore, based on the available evidence, the main theoretical and methodological elements of the neurocognitive perspective in the understanding of suicidal behavior were analyzed, based on publications carried out in Iberoamerica.
