Abstract

The present research focuses on determining the most frequent risk indicators that are related to the cases of women victims of gender violence caused by the couple. Likewise, it is intended to inquire about the emotional repercussions that this problem causes in the victims. Therefore, a quantitative instrument was used corresponding to a survey applied to 40 women who have been victims of gender violence by their partner in the Miraflores neighborhood of the city of Manta, Ecuador. The use of this instrument has allowed obtaining valuable information on the types of violence that predominate in this situation, as well as on the most frequent risk indicators that serve as causative factors of one or more episodes of violence in the couple, which are detailed in the development of the manuscript. Important data about gender violence in women in the Miraflores neighborhood of the city of Manta, Ecuador, are presented, obtaining results that show that 98% of violence is generated by a momentary loss of control (anger) by the aggressor.
