Abstract

Because the pinzote is a part of the banana plant with good fiber density, it is possible to use it as a raw material to obtain cellulose, this being the compound with which they make paper. The purpose of this work is to develop a process for obtaining paper different from the traditional ones, implementing calculations and engineering foundations obtained from different bibliographic sources, which are necessary to provide a suitable shape and texture to our product. It is evaluated and in turn it is compared through the literature that there is a high percentage of confidence to use more acceptable concentrations of Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), carrying out 5 tests and being these subjected to processes under different conditions, obtaining the best result when add 20% of Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) at a temperature of 120ºC in a time of 120 minutes.
