Analysis of water pollution e incidence of consumption in the health of the population of the Río Santo parroquia Ricaurte del canton Chone site, year 2017

Abstract

In the present work, the type of contamination of the water for human consumption of the population of the Rio Santo site of the Chone canton was verified, samples were taken of the water, determining the physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters in its catchment and domiciliary processes of the homes of this community, likewise through surveys directed to the population and interviews with the medical staff of the hospital center, the prevalence of diseases as a result of the ingestion of untreated water was prescribed. This research is to propose a viable and comprehensive alternative that allows correcting the quality of the water and therefore improving the living conditions of this community. In the analyzes carried out (physical-chemical and bacteriological) it was determined that the water that reaches homes is not treated and of poor sanitary quality, the results showed that there is the presence of fecal coliforms, exceeding the parameters of the INEN 1108: 2014 standard. fifth review; the same that must be zero, therefore, the water that this population drinks is not suitable for human consumption. It is concluded that the type of contamination that exists in the catchment sources is due to the presence of bacteria of fecal origin. The proposal will consist of carrying out an improvement plan for the entire water system with training programs that guarantee adequate consumption and use to improve the health of the inhabitants of the Rio Santo site of the Ricaurte parish of the Chone canton.
