PROPOSAL FOR THE CREATION OF THE CENTER OF APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERVENTION IN STUDENTS OF ULEAM

Abstract

The present investigation sought to establish the need to create a Psychological Care Center for Uleam students, for which the analysis of the importance of the creation of an Applied Psychology Center, the Identification of psychological needs and Preparation of a proposal for the creation of the Center for Applied Psychology. The methodology used was based on the quantitative method using the survey technique to determine the degree of acceptance and the qualitative method developed through semi-structured interviews with an approach to experts and mental health stakeholders within the research process, as well as records of observation and focus groups. The type of research was exploratory, descriptive and correlational, whose data obtained were grouped into absolute frequency tables and percentage graphs. The research was aimed at the population that corresponds to nineteen thousand five hundred students with a random sample of three hundred and seventy-seven and ten mental health professionals. The results showed that there are people with different mental health problems such as anxiety, stress, depression, bipolarity, eating disorders and addictions. Who have not yet received psychological intervention due to lack of access to such care for various limiting reasons, the creation of the Center for Applied Psychology would be the solution since it would provide promotion, prevention and treatment in mental health.
