The national economy, since its birth as the Republic of Ecuador, has presented various economic imbalances; triggering problems related to: inequality, widening gaps between rich and poor, increasing poverty and limitations in generating new quality jobs. This situation forces us to ask the relationship between growth and inequality of a nation. For which, Simon Kuznets formulated a hypothesis in which he tried to explain the relationship of the inverted U based on a migratory model in which the rural labor force moves to the urban area in order to improve their wages. In this sense, the present study tries to analyze, under this same hypothesis, whether the growth-inequality relationship is fulfilled in the national economy with the aim of providing greater and better contributions in the search for sustained economic growth, but not unequal.
