Diagnóstico de las condiciones de infraestructura y equipamiento del centro de información turística CIINFOTUR

Abstract

The Tourism Research, Information and Operations Center (CIINFOTUR) is a service laboratory of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality of the Laica Eloy Alfaro University of Manabí, located on the Scenic Malecón of El Murciélago beach in the city of Manta since February 26, 1998, which is dedicated to local, provincial, and national tourism promotion (Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, 2021).  The objective of this work was to diagnose the conditions of the infrastructure and equipment of the tourist information center, its processes and technologies, in accordance with innovative practices of similar tourist spots in the canton, the province, the country and the world.  The applied methodology included an analysis based on direct observation, separating the object of study into parts.  The current environment of CIINFOTUR creates an opportunity for improvement through the use of technological, digital and high-impact media, generating physical attraction through websites and social networks. Disseminating the best tourist information content of Manta, with the prospect of expansion at the provincial level, through the proposal of a consortium to the cantonal directorates of Manta and the other cantons of Manabí for the benefit of tourism.
