Potential of rural tourism in the Valle the Ingenios, Trinidad

Abstract

Current tourist activity has taken on new trends focused on contact with nature and learning about the history and culture of other regions, giving way to sustainable tourism as a source of local development for communities. Rural tourism has become the fundamental basis for this development, so the main objective of this research is to propose actions to strengthen the existing rural tourism in the Valle de los Ingenios, Trinidad, for its use for tourist purposes. promoting an appropriate use of them in the future elaboration of the local development strategies of the municipality. For this, different techniques and methods were used, concluding that the Valley has potential for the development of rural tourism, but it is necessary to improve the management of this tourism modality based on local development, this type of tourism is a product with development possibilities. and gradual consolidation, its success will be determined, to a large extent, by the application of appropriate management mechanisms that ensure that tourism positively influences the economic and social development of the Valley.
