ABSTRACT:

Community Mental Health (CMH) considers mental health as the result of the individual's interaction with his environment. The construct establishes that this is influenced by factors such as pressure and social isolation, coexistence, tolerance of frustration, anxiety, stress, insecurities and negative daily situations. The objective of this documentary research is to recognize the areas of research developed in the Ecuadorian context around the questions: what is known? ¿What has been investigated? and what needs to be investigated? Scientific articles and theses published between the years 2017-2021, which are part of indexed databases or repositories of Ecuadorian universities, were chosen as bibliographic sources. As a result, it was found that research in the field is scarce and is related to aspects such as user satisfaction, reflections of the comprehensive health model, experiences in higher education, addictions and drug use, social factors and family functionality. It is concluded that there is a need to strengthen research in the fields of diagnosis and rehabilitation of mental illnesses and disorders, training and professionalization experiences, strengthening of the academic offer and family participation and rehabilitation.

Keywords: primary health care, Ecuador, mental health, community mental health.

Recibido: 31 de marzo de 2022; Aceptado: 08 de junio de 2022; Publicado: 09 de julio de 2022.
ER -
