ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this article is the revaluation of the cultural identity
expressed in the literary work Los que se van, whose authors are Enrique Gil
Gilbert, Demetrio Aguilera Malta and Joaquín Gallegos Lara. This work is framed
within the problematic of the undervaluation and lack of appropriation of the
"chola" and "montuvian" cultures. To carry out the analysis of this work, we have
resorted to the principles of sociocritical theory, developed by the French
scholar Claude Duchet. This critical current focuses on the identification of past
influences that motivated the creation of a literary work. Within the context of
Los que se van cultural elements of utmost relevance are identified, such as
beliefs and narratives, the representation of women as a symbol of desire and
discord, as well as the symbolism of the machete as a social law. These cultural
components play a distinctive role in the characterization of "chola" and
"montuvian" cultures." The methodological approach employed in the analysis
of this work is based on Claude Duchet's sociocritical theory, which aims to
unravel the traces of society underlying literary production. In addition, a
descriptive approach is used to highlight the problematic of the scarce
appropriation and recognition of the terms "cholo" and "montuvio." The results
of the analysis evidence that "Los que se van" contributes significantly to the
rescue of the cultural identity of the "chola" and "montuvio" peoples, and, in
general, it is a work that should be incorporated from the first steps of an
individual's education, whether in the family or school environment. This would
contribute to enriching society from a cultural perspective, promoting the
valorization of these traditional cultures and fostering a deeper understanding
of cultural diversity in contemporary society.
