En cuanto a los mecanismos de degradación observados, el
carrizo fue el componente más afectado tras la exposición al
fuego, lo cual es coherente con su naturaleza vegetal y su
menor resistencia térmica en comparación con la matriz de
barro. Si bien esta degradación puede comprometer la
adherencia entre el entramado y el recubrimiento en
escenarios de exposición prolongada, bajo las condiciones
evaluadas la contribución del material orgánico a la
combustión inicial fue limitada, debido al efecto retardante
del barro, el cual actúa como un material de alta capacidad
térmica y baja combustibilidad.
Finalmente, la propagación vertical máxima de la llama
registrada para probetas de 50 mm de espesor fue de 15.3
mm, valor significativamente inferior al límite de 150 mm
establecido en la normativa UNE-EN 13501-1. Este
resultado permite asociar el comportamiento del bahareque
a una clasificación de reacción al fuego de clase B,
destacando su capacidad para resistir la acción directa de una
llama pequeña sin una propagación significativa. En
conjunto, los resultados obtenidos evidencian que el
bahareque, bajo las condiciones evaluadas, presenta un
desempeño favorable frente al fuego en sus etapas iniciales,
consolidándose como una alternativa constructiva
técnicamente viable desde el punto de vista de la
inflamabilidad en edificaciones tradicionales.
